METALDEC Al GEL is an acid product, specifically developed for the deoxydation and pickling of aluminium surfaces and related alloys. METALDEC Al GEL allows the removal of stains, originated by the action of chemical agents. Thanks to its composition, free of any abrasive elements, it doesn't alter the roughness of the surface of the treated part. It removes: oxidation, various sediments, veils or light residues of fatty substances, smog, traffic film and contaminants in general. It does not form unpleasant halos and leaves the entire treated surface perfectly homogeneous. The product is essential for surfaces preparations for following conversion (chromate treatment and painting), whether it is the first or subsequent treatment, as normally required by the planned maintenance activities (aeronautical sector). In this case METALDEC Al GEL can be matched to the KEMPERSTRIP line paint remover.
METALDEC Al GEL, thanks to its average viscosity, allows large surfaces treatment with different degrees of slope, reducing needless product dripping waste.
It is also highly recommended in the aluminum transforming productions and for all those activities which have furniture and equipment made or with aluminum details.
Outstanding in cleaning sideboards of the loading area of trucks and lorries.
In case the viscosity of the product is not a necessary requirement, use the equivalent non-viscous product: METALDEC AL.
CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL DATA
- Physical appearance: gel
- Color: colorless – straw
- Odor: distinctive
- Density (at 20˚): 1gr/cm3
- pH(1% dil.): approx. 1
HOW TO USE
Prepare, in a plastic container, an aqueous solution with a concentrations ranging from approx. 5% to 10% (50-100 gm./liter).For increasing the contact time on vertical surfaces, the concentration can be raised up to 50%. An uniform stirring with a plastic device during the preparation of the solutions, is recommended. Distribute evenly the product on the surface to be treated, with a sponge, a brush or a paintbrush. On walls distribute starting from the bottom upwards. To be used at room temperature. Contact time is generally around 2 min., but must be determined on the contamination degreeand/or type of alloy. When completed, proceed with anexhaustive rinsing. In obstinate cases, repeat the operation. WARNING: avoid contact on glass and anodized aluminum (in case, rinse immediately).
STORAGE AND CONSERVATION
Shelf life of the product, kept in original packing, is 12 months. Protect from frost.
