KEMFLOC is a synthetic organic polyelectrolyte particularly effective in dehydrating biological sludge coming from activated sludge systems.
Ionic activity: medium cationic
Bulk density: 900 gr/lt
Solution viscosity: 0.25%
(Brookfield, 25ºC rpm) cps 160
PROPERTIES AND APPLICATION FIELD
KEMFLOC is used in clarification treatments of wastewater and to thicken and dehydrate sludge with high organic content.
PREPARATION OF THE SOLUTION
The solution must be prepared at a concentration ranging from 0.1-0.5% using an automatic dissolving system. After dispersing the product in water, the solution must be shaken for at least 45 minutes for optimal dissolution, using a paddle mixer (avoid the rotors) at 200- 500 rpm.
0.5% solutions are stable for approx. 3 days, while those at 0.1% are stable for approx. 24 hours. For all components of the dissolving and supply system, materials in plastic or ebonized steel must be used.
SUPPLY AND DOSING
In order to obtain optimal results, dilute the solution at a concentration of > 0.1 before use. In case the line’s dilution is carried out, use a static mixer. The solution must be supplied in a turbulence area to ensure proper mixing. Piston, surge or rotor pumps can be used to carry the solutions; centrifugal pumps are not recommended. The dose of KEMFLOC ranges from 0.5 to 50 ppm according to the quantity of suspended substances. To thicken and dehydrate sludge, the dose ranges from 0.2 to 7 Kg/tSS according to the type of sludge and solid content.
PACKAGING AND STORAGE
KEMFLOC is supplied in plastic drums of 30 Kg. The product must be stored in a dry and cool place. By respecting these conditions, the product will retain its properties for at least 1 year.
