FEATURES PDF
METALDEC BLACK is a cold chemical burnisher, active on ferrous metals like cast iron and steel. It carries out its action within 1 and 2 minutes according to the type of treatment, forming an even black finishing boasting good resistance against corrosion. It does not alter the geometry and sizes of the treated object. It is ideal for treating cutting tools, reamers, files, drills, screws, bolts, gears and metal tools. This type of burnishing is safer for operators compared to hot burnishing, since no harmful and corrosive vapours are formed.

METHODS OF USE
METALDEC BLACK is ready for use and does not require dilution. The parts to burnish must be subject to a preliminary phase for optimal results.
CLEANING AND DEGREASING
Clean and degrease the part accurately, using a solvent bath (KEMPERSOLV line) or an alkaline bath (DERKEMP MAT line). In the latter case, rinse thoroughly.
DESCALING
Use a descaling bath of METALDEC LIQUID or DESCAL LIGHT (properly diluted), with immersion times of 5-10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
BURNISHING
Prepare the bath of METALDEC BLACK, using the necessary quantity of product. Do not dilute. Immerse the parts for a timeframe ranging from 1 to 2 minutes. Rinse accurately at the end of the operation to stop the reaction.
FIXING OF THE BLACK FINISH
Fix the black finish by treating the part with an oily protective product (PRONEX OIL) or a good lubricating oil with low viscosity (ISO 20-32).
WARNINGS: all vats that contain the baths must be in plastic material. Separate the sludge that deposits on the bottom of the burnishing vat on a daily basis. The water used to rinse the burnishing can be re-utilized to prepare new baths. When the burnishing time increases, it means that the bath is being used up: in this case, fill up. Waste must be treated with suitable depuration systems or sent to disposal.
IMPORTANT. Do not use the product on aluminium, nickel, magnesium and white alloys in general.
